Healthy partnerships in the healthy boundary series

Loving, being loved, choosing who to love, or how love is a neverending journey

How do we have a healthy relationship? What are the steps to having healthy relationships?

First, we have to rewind.

Before we look for a partner before we decide that cuffing season is driving us crazy and you’re the only one single in your friend group that’s it I’m calling my ex back, we have to start with ourselves.

Before anything you need to know what you want from your next relationship.

The first thing you need to do is make a list.

List 10 things that you’d want in your next partner.

Here’s mine:

  1. Funny
  2. Kind
  3. Smart
  4. Loves animals
  5. is involved with the community and wants to be a part of the change
  6. is a good listener and a good communicator (or at least is willing to do the work to become one)
  7. Is willing to work on themselves
  8. understands that this is a journey with ups and downs
  9. Is open to traveling
  10. has a strong personality

This list has changed over the years as it should, but the basics of it have remained. I want to be treated right, to be loved, and to just have some fun and grow with my partner.

So what’s your list?
