My Body

There’s no doubt that our culture is obsessed with the way we look. For better or worse right? But this book really dug in there from a perspective not many can understand. That of a highly sought-after model.

It was interesting to see how she handled different moments in her life, how her mother’s insecurities feed her own. How her beauty was a constant thing discussed by all as a commodity, a product.  She sacrificed herself in ways I don’t think she could have imagined the repercussions of.

This was a collection of essays really, of thoughts, and of observations. Overall, it was a good collection to read affording me a glimpse into another’s thoughts, trials, and tribulations
